BMSS INVITATIONAL MATH COMPETITION
The primary goal of this contest is to stimulate interest and achievement in mathematics among 4th and 5th grade students throughout Broward County. Additionally, we would like to provide recognition of outstanding young mathematicians, their dedicated teachers, and their schools.
The contest will be held on Saturday, April 4th, 2020 starting promptly at 9:30 am and ending at 2:00 pm at Broward Math and Science Schools. There will be $5 registration fee and registration is required since space is limited. It must be completed by March 20, 2020 at 9pm.
The BMSS IMC contest will consist of a 40 minute test. But that’s not all! During the day we will also have Academic Teams presentations and demonstrations and award ceremony. There will be additional prizes distributed as well. All participants will be recognized and presented with certificates. Outstanding students will receive awards for their performance and the top three students will be generously rewarded. Students who are ranked in 4th through 9th will have a chance to participate in “Only Computation” Quiz Bowl during award ceremony. The winner of the quiz bowl will be rewarded as well. The prizes of competition winners combined for 4th and 5th grades will be; 1st place: Ipad Mini, 2nd place: The Nintendo Switch Lite, and 3rd place: Ipod Touch.
The teachers of the winners will also be awarded with gift cards, valued at $75, $50, and $25 for the first, second, and third places respectively.
