Good Afternoon BMSS Families!

This is Principal Gunes with your weekly updates and announcements.

*   Allow me to start with great news! We had our first accreditation readiness review meeting with the company called Cognia and everything went great. The next step will be the review committee deciding on if we will be a certificated candidate school, so that we can continue with the process of becoming an accredited school. We want to ensure our Vision, Mission, and Purpose statements reflect the core beliefs of our stakeholders as one of the steps during this process. Please click here to take the purpose statement survey. Your opinion matters and we look forward to your response submitted by Friday, November 5th at 3:00PM

*   On Friday, October 29th, book character parade, fall festival activities, and trunk or treat was such a blast. All staff, students, and parents worked extra hard to make sure everyone enjoys the event. Special thanks to all BMSS Family members. You showed us one more time how great family we are!

*   The first quarter report cards will be sent home this Friday, November 5th.

*   There is no school on Thursday, November 11.

*   BMSS Scholastic Book Fair has been scheduled to Friday, November 12th-19th. Please come out on school days and show your little Dolphins when there is a book fair, you are there! Details are to come.

*   Mark your calendars November 18th at 5pm for Thanksgiving Family Night.

*   Parents, make sure to increase i-Ready usage of your children to help them be prepared for our Second Diagnostic Test which will take place at the beginning of December.

The character trait of November is “Gratitude”. I would like to leave you with the following quote:

“When we focus on our gratitude, the tide of disappointment goes out and the tide of love rushes in.”- Kristin Armstrong

Warm Regards,

Metin Gunes
