The Winter Holiday Concert was a special moment for me, and for all BMSS students. Three weeks of hard work, memorizing lyrics, rhythm dynamics and so much more truly paid off in a tremendous way. Students in grades K-5 participated in singing the following songs: Good morning song, Jingle bells, 12 days of Christmas , Jingle Bell Rocks, Do Re Mi song from the musical “ Sound of Music , We Wish You a Merry Christmas and lastly I sung one of my favorite songs of all times “ The Christmas Song” which reminds me of legend Frank Sinatra. We even had a surprise piano performance by one of 4th grade students, Joshua Cuevas!
As we all know, singing with masks is not only a challenge but also sometimes impossible. However, I believe that we can turn the impossible to possible to make things happen and we did. After all “it’s the most wonderful time of the year”! It is important that we build self-confidence and self-esteem in every child and we achieved that by encouraging the students to come and perform in front of an audience. As I explained to all students, especially the shy ones, it is important to fight our fears.
All students enjoyed the feeling of performing, making their parents happy and proud, with lots of joy in spirit of the holidays that’s just around the corner. I’m wishing you happy holidays, health and happiness to and your families, until our next concert.
